Default What do the icons mean when taking damage?

When I was getting depth charged, these 2 gray icons popped up in several of my compartments. I know one of them means flooding.

What about the other one? All I know is that there's a counter that counts down. Does it signify the time it'll take for the compartment to be repaired?

Make sure that repair compartment is fully manned too or flooding will take the boat down

Does the countdown signify how long it'll take to finish these operations?

In a given compartment there are two icons. The icon on the right identifies, well death, complete flooding. The icon on the left identifies the water being pumped out. In short, you want the icon on the left to count down before the one on the right does.

As mentioned above, it absolutely helps to have crew in all compartments that are damaged. Crew within damaged compartments do lend a helping hand too

edit: crude one too many posts and now I have this really wrong avatar.

slow_n_ez, thanks for the valuable tip!

I've always wondered why certain compartments repaired themselves, while others needed to be manually repaired (mouse-clicking on a damaged compartment, and having a strong repair-crew on standby).
