I'm posting this here
in the main Silent Hunter III forum
because the Multiplayer forum only
gets a new message/traffic every 3 days or so.

Seeking RuB 1.43 multiplayers

In anticipation of the upcoming release of Real U-Boat 1.43 , I'd like to find a partner or two who would dabble in multiplayer (MP) with me using the RuB 1.43 platform.

I'm just looking for a friendly gamer who would be willing to go into MP with the status of both players having only patch v1.4b + RuB 1.43 installed.

Here's what you should know about me:
(1) I'm Central Time Zone USA.
(2) I use a 5.0 Mbps cable connection.
(3) I would like to play at 92% realism to start, so we can wave hello with the enhanced RuB external cam.
(4) I generally set up 'Fast 90' attacks, but am proficient with the notepad without problem.
(5) I'd be willing to chat/communicate during MP using the messenger of your choice.

Good idea. RuB multiplayer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I bet most don't even try and host cause they think no-body else will be there....

Just make sure you put RuB in the server title (if that is possible)....

I agree, most of us dont even try MP now, that we have RuB mod.

The default text color is also white ... which on your white background would be even more challenging. You must have changed your settings, RevRaz, from the forum defaults.

My account is pretty old, they probably added a new skin along the way and changed it to default and I'm still on the original.

I would be right into playing with another that has the RUB mod in multi, but i have a problem, i can only play Multi without any mods. Just the 1.4b update and no mods. If i install any mods wether it be RUB or another multiplayer crashes EVERYTIME. Yet with out the mods multiplayer runs everytime. Hope 1.43 fixes this for me.

We may indeed find this to be a problem; I have read it elsewhere. However, just want to give it a shot. It's my understanding that often crashes are the result of people not having exactly the same such-and-such.cfg files. So, the best we can do in the way of diagnosis, is to attempt it when at least two people have the same "fresh, uncorrupted" install of patch v1.4b + RuB 1.43 together at the same time. I do hope it works. It may not.

Beery has announced that RuB 1.43 will be available on Sunday, 07 August, 2005 -- barring any unforeseen testing problems before then, of course.

I've got myself and three other mature players who are interested to try MP using RuB 1.43 eventually.
