I was thinking about something the dev could make, using
what is already existing. So adding a default Renown value in the mission editor to let people 'buy' what they want in the mission. And then in the Solo/Multiplayer mission interface, instead of choosing a submarine and the crew efficiency, to have access to the existing Submarine configuration we have in the campaign ? Would not need too many change i figure. The only tricks would be to let the player buy promotion, medals and specialisation with the renown they have from the mission config. Everything else is already there. I mean the submarine configuration tool is already in the game, giving a Renown value and a having the preset sub of the mission as the "starter" sub (the same ou get from the flottilla configuration when you start a carreer) and you have most of the wanted things packed. And to avoid needing rewritting something to buy the promotion and all, why not add more trained crew in the barracks for the Solo/Multiplayer, like that you can pick the guys your want, and there you are, no needs to rewrite the tools. So in short, simply make the configuration tools from the career avaible in the Solo/Multiplayer mission interface and replace the sub/crew choosing by it. Stavinsky |

Here's an idea for all you moders and programmers.
How about a little program that will automatically copy the details of a submarine and crew from a selected campaign file (in My Documents/SH3/Careers) into the Submarine configuration files for single mission play. Currently, I am incorporating single missions into my Career. I manually edit the renoun files after each mission to increase renoun for single mission tonnage. However, I have to play the single mission without my crew and without an accurate representation of my current Submarine rig. It would vbe fantastic if I had a little program to import my career sub and crew into the single mission. |

I found some solution!
The saved single player missions have a cfg file "crew_config_*.cfg", which is the crew configuration (as it named) at the default saves (Dokuments/blabla/SingleMissions). You can copy your campaign crew config file "crew_config_*.cfg" there and rename it to the saved single mission file. After you load the saved mission, the crew will be your own! That's not the best solution, but something good. |
