So, while taking a little break from sh5. I have decided to try out my luck in the role of a dashing American captain.
So after days of patroling I high tail it out of Phillipine waters to Surabaya and come accross a enemy warship. I think it's a Japanese Aux Cruiser.......nope.....the flag is red...... I think to myself......could this be a British ship running away. But the identification button says it's a blokadenbrecher. German..... Would you look at that.....it does have a German flag??? WTF?? I sunk it ofcourse. But a German ship in the pacific, December 1941?? Anyone else encounter ships far far FAAAAR away from home?? I am using the latest version of Fall of The Rising Sun |

First kill in FOTRS was the same class vessel, German Blockade Runner.
Didn't matter to me, an Axis ship is an Axis ship. And it was in Japanese waters, or at least Japanese controlled waters anyways, and since the Germans and Japanese are playmates, I didn't care. Besides, it is a good tonnage getter. and one Mk 14 set to contact, and 0 depth, and hit him in the forward compartment, and it's like a 4th of July fireworks display!

Well, Germany wasn't at war with the US until December 11, so maybe he's been at sea several weeks and is trying to reach save haven at Japan.
I don't know, just a guess.

This was Indian Ocean-Not a blockade runner -but no one expected it there. One victim. http://www.findingsydney.com/ |

German ship off Luzon?!?
Why are they so far from home?? ![]() Those Nazi's are all over the place. If it weren't for Tarzan, they'd taken over the deepest darkest part of Africa in the middle of the Congo while looking for gold!! I saw it in a movie once.

A few German raiders prowled the pacific, but not really looking to attack anything. I did read of the Japanese blowing up one German raider.
" - On the 30th, German raider "THOR" was destroyed in Yokohama, Japan when a supply ship laying alongside caught fire and blew up."

Tarzan, if real, was an ape man.....Jones was a professor and world traveler, a true adventurer like his father Henry.
Plus he helped blow up two Death Stars.

Oh come on, ............... George Of The Jungle is far better and he has a sense of humor!
![]() Actually, I gotta go with Dr. Jones. Seein' those films reminded me of the old Marvel Comic books I read as a kid, back when they cost only .20 cents. And in the Pacific, there was none better than Sgt. Rock! The guy could fly anything from a B-17 to a P-38! Crash land in the surf after getting shot down by Zekes, comandeer a Jap tank, and whoop a whole division of the Emperor's finest troops on New Guinea, swipe a Jap patrol boat with his tag a long improv' crew, and make for Austrailia in record time.

Sgt. Rock was DC, not Marvel. They also had Johnny Cloud, the Indian P-51 ace, and Capt. Storm the PT-boat skipper.
And not to long ago when Lex Luthor was president of the United States, General Rock was Chairman of the Joint Chiefs. Marvel had Sgt. Fury and his Howling Commandos, who of course later became Nick Fury, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D., and then director Fury. Somewhere along the line he changed color just so some artist could draw him to look like Samuel L. Jackson, which is why the real Samuel L. Jackson ended up playing him, which is a good thing.
