I indeed now have tried the mod. And unfortunately have the same problem!
I've started to notise that its not just the sky, but the clouds, sun and sunrays that do it too. Also the edges of the shadow are doing something I can only describe as 'jumping'! Anyone know anything? Ta

I don't know, but on my GTX570, the issue seems to go away if I crank up AF.

The problem heavily depends on weather and time of day. It is much worse in darkness. Sometimes, during daytime, the sky just looks beautiful and sometimes it is just ugly.
And the problem annoys me much more under water than in the sky, because there it is even worse (to me). I am not sure, if the sky banding fix actually adresses this problem and if it does, I assume it would not adress the same problem under water (as the name suggests). (?) |

Could you post some screenshots of this issue ?
You say there's more than the sky banding issue, could you post some screens of the underwater/shadows/clouds issue ? |

I have no screens handy now, but whenever I see screenshots from SH5, this issues jumps to my eye. It is just everywhere... Especially underwater in twilight, it is ugly as hell... I could make screenshots tonight, but basicly you just could fire up SH5 and you'll see it...
EDIT: At least for the sky, you could have a look here: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=183737 Underwater it is exactly the same problem. |
