Question Mine Gott in Hevel!!!!

I toke a look at the Scripted campain file and discovered that the whole area aroun great britan is mined and I have been criss crossing those areas and havn't struck a single mine, not only that but the HMS Hood in scapa flow had a sub-net around her yet my torpeados sank her. Any one care to explane this phenomena?

The official explanation is that the mines are 'at depth' so if you had to dive in those areas you could be in for a rude awakening. That being said, my experience is similar to yours in that while the (east) coast is infested with mines, I routinely patrol through there and have never struck a thing.

well the U-142 is a surface dwelling boat most of the time usually only going no deaper than Priscope depth. that still dosen't explane the Subnets.

the subnets are exactly that; subnets. Torpedo nets on the other hand are at surface depth.

The nets can be set to different depths just as the mines can be.

You know, it wouldn't kill you to offer some good news once in a while.

Just kidding, but that is one more fact to file away for future nervousness.

The Ancient Mariner is here to pick nits again. Did you by chance mean "Gott im himmel"? "Hevel" is a name, related to "Abel".

You're slipping, Opa. You forgot to correct the misspelling of "mein."

Just think of me as the Grammar Nazi Nazi.

I keep saying it's not the spelling but the usage. Women never listen to what I say. Probably rightfully so.

Yeah, that's the ticket. Always have an excuse handy, then turn it on the other person.

Did I say that out loud?

Yes, Miss Heilman, I'll go sit in the corner now.

Yes, I still remember my kindergarten teacher.
