![]() Coastal Boat v.1.0 This mod adds one small coastal vessel to the game. "Coastal Boat" is a GR2-format ship, that was unfinished and left to gather dust in the game files. I added the missing files to it and made it as finished as possible. Basically it works like every other SH 5 ship, only damage effects are bit more restricted. Compatability This ship is made for OH II. Coastal Boat is a type 104 ship (coastal vessel) and I'm pretty sure that stock game doesn't have these types of ships. Install after OH II and the game will add it to the campaign. Campaing restart might be needed for this to work. Note: Type 104 ships can't be heard on hydro and sonar man won't report them. Install with JSGME Download link: http://www.gamefront.com/files/20791116/Coastal+Boat.7z |

@ Trevally
Feel free to add this to OH II , this ship doesn't cause any flag problems or others. It's names.cfg is based on latest OH II names.cfg so it has the support for Cerberus62 additional ships mod included.

No need to restart campaign. Anyone using OHII can install this coastal ship and it will show up. Edit: sorry I was wrong here. An update for OHII is required to add this boat. Last edited by Trevally.; 09-19-2011 at 04:36 PM. |

In the meantime you can add this to campaign if you install this mod and start a new career, I have tested it and it works! |

A inaudible (for the player) moving ship on hydrophone is IMO a major bug. |

These coastal ships are only 90tonnes and will be added to the campaign as type=104 for the very reason that they will not be reported or heard by crew just like the 80tonne fishing boat and tugs. Who wants to spend an hour plotting the four bearings only to find a 90t target. I have done this a few times - then got very fed up doing it. Remember the OHII was designed to be played using real nav. I for one will be looking forward to seeing these boats as I hunt close in to the coast |

One of SH5's biggest problems was a lack of variety in the vessels encounteres in the Campaign. I haven't played SH5 for months because I got bored of endessly sinking Liberty Cargo vessels. I love to see new vessels being added. Great job
![]() I disagree that the smaller vesses should be undetectable. Anything with an engine or metal parts clanking together would be detectable in reality. The fact that The Devs couldnt get the sonar working properly in a Subsim is one of my biggest beefs. I wish we as a Community could pool some cash and literally pay The Devs to work on SH5 for however long we could afford 'em. e.g. If 5 000 Community memebers donated two Euros each, that's 10 000 Euros! Good math huh?

It makes sense that sonarman won't report these small boats. However it would be nice if you could hear them manually in hydro, but the game says no. There is a workaround that is used on dolphins but it's not perfect either (the sound volume is static, distance plays no part. So you could hear fishing boat 30 km away that sounds like it's right next to you). And finally, this boat is basically just eye candy. It offers more variation to ships making the game more detailed. Only the most ruthless captains gun down small fishing/coastal boats .
