If it's still too loud, you might want to edit the volume of the ambient sound in the data file. You'll need to use Silent 3ditor to make the necessary adjustments. IIRC you can set it through the sh3.sdl file or, (if not there), simply run the ambient file through a freeware audio program and turn down the amplification. Good luck!

Edit: Please see this post for further assistance:

Been a while. Back again.

I don't have the SH3 editor. Is there anyway to keep the interior but replace the sound with another soundpack?

Yes, you can always delete the Sound folder that comes with New_Interiors and simply use an alternate sound of your choice.

Oh, and welcome back!

I keep trying to get back to it and keep getting sidetracked. Lol, but thanks, glad to be back again.

I tried to delete the folder once before, but it didn't seem to have any affect. Must have done it wrong.

Think I got it now. Had to move the file completely out of SH3 folder. Now the question is what sounds I want to install? Hmmmm.

Get it. It's free and it's fairly easy to use, and there are good tutorials available.

And it's fun to play with.

Since trying to put together a nice package of mods for my boat I have yet to play a single campaign since I first found GWX! lol.

I think I am nearing a suitable suite for my boat. That is of course, just to run some nice, basic early war north Atlantic campaign. I am sure I will be tinkering around with this for years to come still, lol.

Here's another question to shoot out here.

Does Thompsen's Soundpack run with the same engine noise at FM;s interiors mod? I would like more immersive sound environment, but those damn diesels clattering away like that I just can't deal with.

Longer Repair Times, lite or full? What's the difference?

Full makes repairs take hours, sometimes up to a day. Light cuts all repair times in half, as compared with full. Still a lot longer than stock.

I need to thank you for this post, because it allowed me to locate one of the hottest and forgotten mod I 've ever seen. I lost the files a long time ago and forgot it's name (MEG)
I will use it again, wait for good screenshots

Ohhh, I gotcha. So it's not really a matter of more or less data, just repair times. Hmmmm. Think I might go with full. More realistic I would guess. Maybe combine that with the depth charge range reducer mod I found somewhere. Reduces to a more realistic 20m damage zone I think it said, half of stock damage range.

Were there any never versions of Flakmonkey's Interiors? I think it is one of the most awesome mods outside of GWX. So cool to be able to walk around the boat more, see more compartments.
