ok, here goes:

don't you know that right and left is reversed over there with the commies?
The picture clearly states that "Social progress: evolution" for the lefties
but in commie nations if your for progress, change and anything that is different than official government policy, they call you right wingers

you know, the picture implies that the political spectrum is a line segment
instead, it should be a circle! you can either go clockwise or counter clockwise, but if you go too far in one direction, you will actually end up on the other side!(like in Animal farm)

The only problem is Americans cannot be so neatly categorized.

I've seen Republicans that coddled their children or were atheists and Democrats who are disciplinarians or strict Roman Catholics and so on.

I think in some ways it is that simple. Of course generalities never can cover everything, and individuals remain just that, but that chart is actually a pretty good summation of the American political mainstream.
