Wiped out another convoy last night.

So after docking at the wrong port (Wilhelmshaven instead of Lorient) I set out to get back to Lorient.

On my way out I skirted the east cost of britain again.

on 9/21/40 in AN73 I hit another convoy. I lied in wait and nailed 2 large freighters, but in only 30m of water I could not dive. Two Town Class destroyers converged on me. I duked it out on the surface with them, and nailed them both with stern magnetic shots.

By then the third and final down class was heading my way. Since my stern tubes were empty, I pointed my bow at him and went full reverse.

My first tube missed, as well as a second! I tried to go flank ahead and turn, but the Town Class hit our watch tower square on.

Radio and both periscopes destroyed, as well as all the flak guns.

But the Town Class sank itself ramming me! I heard the explosions up above and knew he was done.

Then I surfaced and worked my way up the two columns of the convoy, charging right up the center from the rear, blasting away with my 105. And of course I had loads of torpedoes on board and I let them fly also.

In the end, I wiped out the entire convoy - 12 merchants plus 3 Town Class escorts.

I wish my screen shots did not cause CTD or I would have taken one. It's cool seeing big swath of red "sunk ship" icons along the map!

Good job, Just lost my main U-boat attacking a convoy, knew I should of just torpedoes that DD when I had the chance!
