Question finding multiplayer games (mp newbie)

Hi guys,

I would be interested in trying out a multiplayer game. What is the best way? are there clubs or clans?

Do you guys play at regularly scheduled times?

Best bet is to leave your contact email, Skype etc and pick up a few buds that play. Feel free to add me on Skype. I think I will be playing a lot over the weekend.

Blackswan, et.al. - We should remind everyone that in order to play the MP games available through Subsim Downloads, EVERYONE must have downloaded and installed a copy of the game! In other words, if one wants to play, "Killing Moon" or, "Fighting Canuc(k)s," in the MP arena, ALL participants - not just the Host! - must have downloaded and installed the goodies in their personal, "MultiMissions" folders in the SH5 Directory on your computer!

By the way, using JSGME to install the extracted MP in the proper location simply doesn't work. Extract to desktop and simply move the new directory (containing two files) to your computer's SH5/Data/MultiMissions folder.

And - coming from someone who's actually played those "special" missions with my shipmate from across the pond, it's WELL WORTH THE EFFORT !!

Do all players need to have the same MODS running to join an online mission? If so, which MODs are you running.

Most mods will not affect mp e.g the eye candy should have no problem being different from user to user. The problem is when you use mods that change sensors, scripts and damage. These mods if not exactly the same with each user will cause the game to crash if not at the beginning it will crash when contacts appear or damage on a boat is taken.

Okay, so which MODS are you guys using for online play??

I have patch 1.2 installed, JSGME installed and know how to use it and the missions installed in the proper folder. Have done one mission with Blackswan so far without trouble using no MODS.

Skype name = Beer5672

Question: when setting up a mission one of the options is "radio", its in the chat section, what does that mean?

Hi Beerman,

We have a wolfpack mod pack we use which has all the maps and mods we use. I will send it to you on Skype when we connect.

Radio just means whether or not we can use the chat (text) box in game to communicate with each other.
