The normal camouflage in the Mediterranean for U-Boats was blue-grey or green.

( look about 90% down the page)

Also, here's something else about u-boat markings and colors I found when looking up the answer to your question: http://www.rokket.biz/models/modelsw...at_colours.pdf

Thank you. I read somewhere some boats where given the spotted camouflage with jagged edges to compensate for the med that the aircraft could easily spotted by aircraft when on periscope depth. Also , i,m not sure but in sh-5 the game seems to take this into acount when you are in the med. The water seems more transparent and you seem to be easer spotted in the med at peri depth then in the atlantic.

A snorkeling boat (or at periscope depth) in the Mediterranean Sea can be easily spotted from aircraft or surface ships:

The best paint for a ship operating in the clear waters of the Mediterranean sea is, as others said, a blue green tint. A good example of this is the Dolphin class submarine (google for Dolphin Class).
