I used to do just exactly what Magic said, go there, TC and your mission is done, unless it is a sink mission then you can go sink it some other place. I looked through the layers and there is NEVER any Japanese east of the Caroline Islands. There is an Island that I don't know the name of, about halfway between Truk and the Marshalls and that is as far east as any Japanese go, unless I missed something. So if you get a sink mission just go to the star, it will turn grey then go sink stuff anywhere you want, you will still get credit. And if it is a Patrol mission, stay until the star turns grey then go somewhere else and you still get credit for that too. Don't waste your time in the Marshalls or Gilberts. Another SH4 BUG. There is never any Japanese at either location. I don't know why Magic called you "old buddy", you are only 28 right? ![]() Like they say, "You're as old as you feel", I'm 173. ![]() Take care my friend! Peabody

I usually run out of torps before I even get to the mission objective. I return to port, refit, and head back out.

I'm currently on my second patrol in 43' to the Marshall's. I've also been sent to the Gilbert's as well. I've found shipping, although very scarce, at both. First off, let me say I'm useing RFB + RSRD. With that out of the way, in the Marshall chain, I've found shipping near Mili Isl. In the Gilberts it was near Makin atoll. Like I said, it was far and few between, but I have scored.
Another thing I noted is that Mili seems to be a waypoint termination zone. I've tracked a contact only to have it disappear completly, or go dead in the water. I've mentioned this in the RSRD thread, and according to Lurker, it is as designed. So there is shipping there with RSRD. |
