Default Enigma Flotilla & SH5

Well, I think is time to open a new thread to talk about how to add SH5 to our special Flotilla.

(Personally, since I bought SH5, I'm thinking that maybe we should do some OS for SH5. I've been playing just on SH5 and I'm not sure if I'll come back to SH3 so often as a week before.)

What do you think about it?

We did the tracking for Dowly, and he is/was using our Enigma codes and schemes.

However, from what I gather, it seems it is not that easy to get your position from SH5 as it is with SH3.

Technically, it should not be a problem to support all SH versions and do the tracking on the same map.

I agree that as a flotilla we need to support both SH3 and SH5, but I will not be able to supply R&D for a game I do not play; that job will have to fall to an SH5 commander. I personally would never use a program that requires me to stay online to play, so until such time as SH5 drops it's online requirements, I will remain a devoted SH3 commander.

Yes, this is true. Your own exact position isn't shown anywhere in the game. So, you have to send status report to BdU, save the game and go find the right save game folder that houses the RadioMessagesSent.ini that shows all sent messages with lon/lat position.

It is very odd, that you position is not mentioned in your report to BDU.

DOWLY -
Thanks for following our Flotilla. All com/sug appreciated.

We will do everything we can to support SH5. I added a post to Canovaro's OS thread offering to help all with the postings. Did not receive any comments.

There is very little response to anything I post concerning Flotilla Enigma

I have too much faith in our SHIII modders to go to SH5 but you never know LzZ

I agree FIDO and KL-alfman, it's just a time thing. The whole SUBSIM community is against DRM, then you can be absolutely sure that DRM will fall in a few weeks or months, no more.

Talking about getting the position on SH5,
Do you know if the map can be fixed to show the traditional grid creating a mod or it can not be done?

thx, woodybcn.
I really would like to support SH5 - I even considered buying a new machine for that new and graphically superior sim. but only after U-play diminishes.

you can imagine how sorry I feel atm, because I want the SH-series to continue .....

I understand perfectly KL-alfman. I can't understand why they broke the old interface!! It was so easy to mantain the the SH3 or SH4 interface and just improve graphics..., or even to add this new way of moving around the U-Boot (a little bit as the Sims simulator, but I can accept it because this is simulation too -NOT ARCADE-)
Is true, there's some ARCADE CONCEPTS on this new game but fortunately can be unselected on "OPTIONS".

I really believe and want to believe.
to see SH die will not make me happy at all. after the "holy patch" which removes U-play-connection I will immediately buy and install. until then, no SH5 for me ....

If someone is willing to send me the radiomessage.ini, I offer to take a look inside ans if if I can come up with a scripted solution for showing the coordinates in a pop-up msgbox after each send message.

I don't have SH5 either and wont buy it as long as the DRM scheme hasn't been patched out.

The high resolution map from the Gold Edition is here:
http://fx.itpro.no/fil/SH5.map.final.rar

Is a nice map but not useful to guess any position!

I forgot to say that this map was added by RAGTAG on this post:
