I just tried it but it didn't work for me. Got all the way to confirming the purchase then it said it wasn't available in my country.

Shame, I really like the impulse service. Oh well I guess I can be patient for a little while longer

Believe you can use a Proxy?At least that's what a few people said who bought from impulse said

I get the proxy thing goofed up with paypal, I'm sure doing something wrong but it start to look like you cant use the paypal login things through the proxy.

Could you guys provide step by step tutorial how to use the proxy with paypal, please?

Same here with paypal, proxy will not let me login and send money. I gave up.

I have some concerns with buying from Impulse as a European...

- Explicitely states it's not available for my region
- The licence states it's valid in the US and 'It is terminated automatically by Ubisoft without notice if the User fails to adhere to the terms and conditions of the Licence.'
- Using an anonymous proxy that doesn't support a secure connection
- Submitting credit card details through said proxy

Hmm...

Guess I'll wait a short while for the more expensive (EUR) Steam version to be safe .

Got it working! Just use a proxy via your Internet Explorer options. When getting redirected to the PayPal login just uncheck the proxy use in the IE options. This way you can buy and login to PayPal without having to use that unsecure Proxy. Downloading right now

With the proxy-trick your internet traffic gets re-directed, so the website you are surfing at actually believes you are surfing from the Proxys location. To do this, you need to go in the options menu of your IE. From there you need to find the "connections" tab, where you will find a button called "LAN settings". Then check "Use proxy server for LAN". Now you need to enter the Proxy adress and the port. To find one, you can use google (I found some under http://tools.rosinstrument.com/proxy/). just click one of the list and you will see a page named "statistics for ip-123-...". Take the IP from there and use dots instead the dashes (So it looks like 123.456.78.90. The Port ist the number just before HTTP, for example 8080. Then close your IE options and goto the store (Beware, your connection is usually very slow now). Then add the game to your cart, choose the PayPal checkout option and when being redirected to the PayPal login Page goto "options" again and uncheck the "Use proxy server for LAN", so you don´t need to send your PayPal account infomation via the unsecure proxy connection. Login in to PayPal, send your payment and use the Impulse downloader to get your game. Worked for me from Germany. Good luck!

Just a word of warning - it didn't work for me. I ended up with a message saying Stardock store was undergoing "maintenance" and they would (get this...) "be back" last August. Sounds like a scam to me.

I'm not saying rcjonessnp175is has anything to do with it, though. Who knows who's behind these anonymous proxy servers and what they do to with your personal and credit card details. Firebird was right in #8.
