Couple of GWX 3 questions

If I change awarded renown similar as stock sh3, will I get ritterkreuz for meagre tonnage and good sailing?

I assume renown points are connected to awarded medals.

Reason for me to do this is to command three types of subs(II, VII, IX) during my career and those changes cost renown.

And how much renown are needed for promotion to kapitanleutnant?
My highest renown ever was +7800 before I changed to type IXC.
Some 150 000 tons sinked in 10 patrols and yet still oberleutnant
Perhaps my commander behaved badly in the nightclub.

There's a couple of mods to replace the stock renown. One of them is on my mod page (link below).

AFAIK renown is linked to your crewmans medals but it main use is for upgrades. Renown is also linked to your realism level, so if you're playing at 50% you'll get half the renown that you would playing at 100%.
