Question Cannot create local server

Guys, sorry for bothering you, but I am really pissed off.

I tried to create a game on ubi.com. And I failed. I have no issue with joining the game and now I would like to create my own.

I have static IP adress, I opened all necessary ports (17997-18003) and checked it through "PFPortChecker" - everything is perfect. Moreover I managed to create a server and my friends joined me (so I had a ping). After that, I restarted my computer to confirm my efforts and ......

I cannot create a game, when I click on create game. next I choose a mission and next click OK, I received an error message:
"ERROR CANNOT CREATE LOCAL SERVER"

I have no idea what is going on, before restart I did it, now I can not. I have XP, all may Antivirus (Panda IS) is switched off, firewalls too.

Has anybody any idea ???????

This is a one for the multiplayer section.

Disconnect your router and if that works, reset the router and port forward again.

I reset my router and port forward again. Without effect. I think that problem is with my network configuration, but I do not know where to look for.

You may need to contact your ISP or the router technical people if you are unable to get help from whoever set up your network.

It is doubtful your ISP would help you as soon as they ascertained your connection was running okay.

You could try bluffing them and ask them to help you set up your network (due to the fact you've recently purchased a new system *cough*)

You're going to need more than just ports 17997-18003 open for properly hosting a game PL_Cmd_Jacek.

According to Ubi.com, here's all of the ports you need to forward:
Quote:
For the game itself

TCP 18000
UDP 17997,18001
TCP and UDP 6667

For the Ubi Servers

TCP ports 40000 through 42999
UDP 41006,44000,45000,45001
Maybe that's been your trouble. I hope this is the answer you've been needing.

thank you Graf. But the problem is no with the ping. I've just found a root cause of the problem. My antivirus protection (Panda) was an issue. Turning off was not enough, probably there were still Panda's precesses somewhere.

Today I ve just uninstalled Panda Internet Security, and the problem was solved.

But now I have no any antivirus protection. Any suggestion, which software works well with SH3

AVG Antivirus has always worked quite well for me and has never conflicted with any game I've played. If you just want the basic protection, no firewall or full-features e-mail scanner, you can get it for free from Grisoft. Otherwise, they do offer AVG Pro for a reasonable cost.

Matter of fact, every SH player I've known that has had issues with other antivirus programs reported no more troubles once they switched to AVG.

Glad you got SH3 multiplayer working. Good hunting!

Avira Antivir is another good choice.
It doesn't bring havok to your multiplayer configuration.
