After the whole "games on demand" concept, aparently the Japanese figured you'd want a girlfriend to go with them.

Doubt it as the guys paying for this service would probably get their butts handed to them by the girls. We are talking otaku after all.

Second prostitution is legal there so if otaku wanted sex, they would go to one of those places.

All this is really, is a new spin on the old 'service' concept in Japan which started with the Geisha (who BTW are not prostitutes). Looks like the prices are also set to what your typical otaku can afford too.

Btw when I first saw this I thought you were going to talk about the virtual girl type games from Japan instead. Probably just as well you didn't

I thought of the Asian looking robot that is in the making.

I agree it's not a far cry from Geisha girls. They were technically simply entertainers after all, which is what these guys offer as well... though it seems a little more physical.

To be honest, I consider this an extension of the virtual girlfriend stuff at the same time.
