Default USS-Gato Engine and Fuel Graphs (RFB1.52)

A while back for my own amusement I ran a series of tests in a Gato class submarine at various speeds. This is the result. Most of this stuff is very expected with 10 kts (measured at the helm, not the 2D GUI) giving the best range. However I found the flat parts of the curves for endurance and fuel consumption between 1kt and 10kts to be very weird. Why is the submarine drink fuel at the same rate (gallons per hour) at 2 kts and 9 kts? Makes little sense to me.

P.S. Before you suggest, no I wasn't recharging batteries.

Very interesting, but my guess is it's just a game flaw...it would have to be.
