Default Walter Cronkite passes away

Sad that he would pass 40 years after the first Apollo landing, one of the subjects most identified with him.

Very sad, but not unexpected. I remember someone saying he was next after the McMahon/Fawcett/Jackson/Mays streak a couple weeks ago.

The coincidence with the Moon landing is appropriate, I think. He was a true giant of that era, and the Moon landing was one of the biggest events of that era.

He will be dearly missed, but he lived a long and very productive life, and left us with plenty to remember him by.

Sad to see him go. He was a fixture in the lives of many for a long time.

I tie him in with the moon landings as well. Sad to hear of his passing and the end of an era

I agree with Max2147: this is somehow fitting.

I grew up watching his You Are There TV series.
