Obt. Rolfe Hass just returned from mid 41 patrol in IXB U122. Survived a 15.13 damage rating. Sunk just over 250,000 tons including one floating dry dock (32,000 tons each) at Scapa and 2 more at Loch Ewe - both port incursions succeeded due to heavy weather conditions hiding boat.
Would like to change the con tower Uboat identification number based on the idea the boat was in such bad condition (barely manuveralbe) it would most likely have been written off . How do I change the current # to a historically true alternative? |

If you have SH3 Commander (if not, get it), after a patrol go in it, select your campaign, and click on the U-Boat section where you'll see a name and the type. You can even limit the names to the historical numbers in your flotilla.
If you don't have it, go to C:\"blabla, not sure about this part"\Documents\SH3\data\cfg\Careers\"your career name\Patrols.cfg and edit the SubName=U-XX (your current number) line in your latest Patrol. It will still appear under the old name in the Captain's log for that patrol, but after that it'll be just fine. |

Your information proved to be on target. Our severly damaged U 122 was handed over in Wilhelmshaven mid July, and our replacement U 124 began operations early October 1940. We are currently attacking a weakly escorted convoy located about 48 hours west of our new base: Lorient.
Total ships in convoy including escort: 17 So far we have sunk one Flower corvette, an auxillary crusier, C -2 cargo, armed Empire frieghter, and damaged an armed large merchant. With only one more armed merchant to go, we will then dispatch the remaining convoy with our 105mm, as sea conditions permit. Thanks for helping us "get" our new boat! obl Rolfe Hass |

Greetings Karamazovnew,
U 124 was renamed thanks to your help this past summer. Since that time she has survived to complete her latest and most rewarding 8th patrol. On this patrol kaleun Rolfe Hass intercepted HMS Rodney and HMS King George V steering 145 degrees at about 0730 on the morning of May 27 1941in force 15 conditions. Exact grid location at first contact: 25km west of the intersection formed by BE29, BE37, BE53, and BE61 (or about 1400km (per the game) west of Brest, France. If this interests you, I have more information to pass on about how Bismark survived to then sink 7 merchants and 3 DD's on May 29th! I'd like to see this encounter made into a "single mission" selection for SH5, or help fellow kaleuns create one for themselves. It was that good!! Do you have any suggestions? Happy Hunting! obtl Rolfe Hass (Tim Watson)
