these patches hate me

i bought silent hunter 3 and have been unsuccessfully
trying the available patches
they never update to due some asinine reason
of either de_menu.txt or anim.act being an
"unknown version"

i have no FLIPPING idea why this is such a "big" problem

Have you only just bought it?

It's probably already patched to 1.4b. Check the version number through the properties of the SH3.exe or by loading the game and checking the bottom right corner of the main menu.

it may have been already patched as danlisa said but you may get this error while trying to patch with wrong patch. US patch for us version and EMEA for EMEA. First check if the 1.4b is in bottom right corner.

Try renaming the files (do not delete them) and then try the patching again.

If you just bought the game there's a good chance that it's already patched to 1.4b. You can find out whether it has been patched to this version by either running the game & you will see 1.4 in the bottom right corner of the main Menu Screen or looking at the Readme file which should be located in your SH3 Folder.

There you go. Thats as far as UBI patched the game. Now if you want to have some real fun just DL one of the Ubermods that are out there, and definitley SH3Cmdr 3.2 as well.
