This story gave me a good chuckle, because either way, Sarkozy looks like an idiot. On the one hand, a complete change of opinion, and on the other, the sheer concept that Gordon Brown could be doing a 'good job' during this global downturn. Oh dear.

Personally, and you can call me a conspiracy nut with a tin hat, but looking at the comments that came out of Germany and now from Sarkozy with the pound weakening against the euro, I think this is being used as an opportunity to A) do the UK in so taht B) it is forced to join the euro and be subdued.
Seriously I think this is the case. France especially has never like th eUK being the thorn in the EUs side and this is the perfect chance. |
