Default [WIP] Type VIID and mining laying in SH4

The concept of minelaying from playable Uboat has been around for a while and was started by CB in 2006
http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=94252

and more recently by Dietrich this year http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...15&postcount=1

Well I decided to see what I could do to incorporate mine warfare in Operation Monsun. Based on the original ideas of CB & Dietrich plus the Type VIID from Tomi_99’s “U213 AI-Uboat” mod, SMA Mine shape by Mikhayl I have come up with a playable Type VIID for SH4. It is capable of carrying 15 SMA mines ( 21 during testing ) and can be launched in rapid succession.

during some testing a few months back i succeeded in launching mines (the stock mines, no edited torpedoes or anything) from the bold tube. Pretty much what Dietrich describes as the first solution. I kinda abandoned that project, but if you like i could redo it. It would save the torpedo slots to use them for torpedoes.

I can't guarantee it'll work however, I never did more than some basic testing with them.

I would very much like to see what you have done. As the title states this is a work in progress. If I use it you will get full credit.

Great Work !!!

YES!!!!!!! can this be adapted for surface ships?!

……………………

YES !!!!!!! Can this be adapted for surface ships?

Woowww! this is the best Christmas gift for me since I am by Silent Hunter .

lurker_hlb3! I thank you and everyone here at work so intensively taken the trouble to have to lay mines, and to bring to detonation, you have my dream come true!

But perfection would be only one of me his desire.
Last mines on the surface to swim it interesting and exciting for the multiplayer his players to give them the opportunity to avoid the mines.

I'm not quite sure whether the mines at the VIID subs chains into the water have been left?

GREAT WORK !!!

This is a WIP. Talk to me when V700 comes out and I'll see what can be worked out.

ok, I recovered the files I made a few months back, and during testing I remembered why I abandoned the project at the time. The mines launch perfectly and do sink ships, but the game doesn't register it as one of your kills. In other words you can sink ships with it but you won't get renown etc. for it, not even an entry in the captains log saying you sank a ship.

hmmm. i was thinking, Racerboy's smoke mod that one can make bow waves go up, possibly you can make a chainfall animation by making the torpedo launch bubbles go down? then making the bubbles a long chain?
