OK, thought I would share this because if it worked for me then who knows maybe it will work for you or someone you know...
I have to drive alot to go to hospital to hospital for work purposes. Over the years I began to develope a real sore arse. Nothing seemd to help, not the creams and soaks, none of it. Well, I discussed this with my GI doctor who also is a Biomedical Engineer and we felt that the cleaning processs after answering natures call is the problem. The cleaning process acts as an irritant to the tissues and provokes the problem. Washing the area is not always available to do unless you are home, so we came up with the idea of using baby wipes for cleaning purposes. It works like a charm and within a week or so this nagging problem has ceased to exist. So if you or someone you know suffers in this area, just a tip that may help them out too instead of spending money on creams that do not address the cause and only cover the symptoms... |

Baby wipes are a wonderful invention.

my first husband suffered, for a time, with a condition similar to the wartime 'jeep drivers disease'. It had to do with bouncing up and down in the driving seat of the plant he was driving all day over rough terrain, getting hot and sweaty, and the sweat running down to you-know-where, and the friction of his underpants against his skin, with the sweat and dirt that accumulated, broke the tissues down, resulting in a painful ulcer-like sore.
He eventually went to the doc, who gave him some antibiotics as I recall, but the main treatment was to keep the area clean and dry. To this end he had to lie face down on the bed and allow me to apply whatever the doc had prescribed to that place, and then I had to sticky-tape a fluff-ball of cotton-wool to him to act as sort of protecting pad - I do wish I had taken a photo of him with his bunny tail, but at the time one needed to keep a straight face to preserve his dignity |
