Default SH3 Commander and MultiSH3

okay, i figure this shouldnt be too hard to fix...
i have 2 installs of SH3, one for regular GWX playing, and one for the Schnellboot mod. because i don't like having to load it up every time I wanna play it.
i have both set up to have their own JSGME, and their own save files in My Documents.I am even running a pair of SH# Commanders to resolve myself of any problems. the only problem is, SH3 commander won't pick up my new save file in my documents, named SBM. what can I do to point SH3 Commander in that files direction? because its not picking up my regular install either:hmm:

any help would be very much appreciated!

Hi, I got a similar setup with the sh3cmdr's in the respective SH3 folders. With SH3Cmdr.ini file you point to your SH3 installation. It then looks up your savegame folder assigned inside the sh3.exe (?). Try editing the SH3Cmdr.ini.

hmmm, I'm guessing it would be right in the SH3 Commander root folder...if so, its not there. I can just point it to my install

Yes it should be in root of sh3cmdr. Is it a new install of Sh3Commander, perhaps it will be created after first run.

Erm, assuming that you are using the latest version, then SH3Cmdr will go whereever YOU point it. This is explained on page 5 of the User Guide. If you have used MultiSH3 to repoint the save game folder for that installation (there is no other way short of editing the relevant DLL by hand), then SH3Cmdr will pick it up and use it automatically.

It's not hard to do, especially if you follow the instructions in the User Guide.

Using four different SHIII installs together with Cmdr3.1.
Works like a charm thanks to the new function in 3.1 where you very easy make cmdr "Point" at the install it´s supposed to run against.

Needless t say i use 4 different SHIII Cmndr3.1 as well.

In the "old days" with the previous version of Cmndr. this was possible to do as well but a tad more complicated. MountainmanUK helped me to understand how it works. Thanks Dave + JScones

Cheers
