i was playing one of the single missions last night (convoy intercept near sicily).
i mad an attack and dove to evade. thought i was safe and decided to pop up to persiscope depth for a peek.. and no sooner than i get there a DD runs over me. flooding two compartments and destroying my towers and scopes. since i was not going to be able to re-attack anyway.. i decided to dive as deep as i could and see when the IX would crush with this damage (after the flooding damage was repaired). i was able to dive to maximum allowable depth on the dial. 260m? |

IXD2s are quite robust and can go even deeper than 250m. The crush depth is affected by the hull integrity of your submarine. If your boat is damaged its crush depth decreases dramatically (I had a case where the hull of my boat collapsed at 55m with hull integrity of about 10%!!!!)
