Default [Req] RFB sonar lines

Hey all,

Im running RFB + RSRD but its really an RFB thing.

It changed the bearing lines for sonar contact. Not all that bad really does give that degree of uncertanty however. My old eyes and low res monitor under certain lighting (red) they are really hard to see.

Is there any way to 'tighten up' the dashes, or make them darker ?

This is probably no help, but TMO gives you the stock bearing lines--blue for military, black for merchant.

Well you cant 'stack' TMO & RFB but obviously it is modable.

Im not much into modding so I have no idea where to look or what to change if I found it.

We have someone working on it. I'm the crash test dummy. There are many aspects of RFB nav map and attack map that make it impossible to use the attack map to verify TDC settings. Since real boats did this it makes Real Fleet Boat notably unreal. Also, if you zoom in to the point where you can see the bearing plotter, all contacts vanish! What is a bearing plotter for? To measure bearing to the invisible target!

There's work to be done and we'll have a mod to fix it in favor of the TMO scheme shortly. You'll have your bearing lines back, which are absolutely necessary because of the doofus we have as sonar operator. It will be an RFB plug-in that modifies these aspects only. Being JSGME compatible, you will be able to switch it in and out in seconds, even without returning to base.

Yes this too, what Ive been doing is zooming in to just one zoom before the target dissappears and place a tick with the pencil.

In fact I place a couple of ticks, using the stopwatch, and parallel rule to get speed, bearing, and course (roughly).

Been working okay for me so far.

Yeah, but it's totally unreal, and so totally opposed to the stated purpose of Real Fleet Boat. Let's just visualize this situation in a real submarine. The captain walks over to the chart and sees that it has no contacts plotted on it.

Captain: "What the hell is going on here! We can't hit targets we don't plot. Exec, you better explain yourself now!"

Exec: "Oh, that's just the way the new chart tables work now. To see the target you have to back away from the table at least three feet."

Captain: "What a great idea! What will they think of next? What is that, some cockamamie security measure?":rotfl:
