Looking good Ferret

Is it ready for some beta-testing tonight?

FOR CRYING OUT LOUD! What mushrooms did the devs eat while making the contrails?!

Just to recap, the MG151 and the Italian peashooters work by using the rocket's smoke.

The rest dont work using the rocket's smoke, BUT it ******* works if I use smoke that is used in burning planes!

WHAAAAATTTT THEEEEE FUUUSSSSSBALLLLLOOOOWWWW!?!!?!?!?!?!

There's NOTHING different in them files, except the burn smoke is black and bigger!

Yup, they should all work now. Now, only thing left is tweaking some more & cleaning up the folders from all the unnessecary files.

Just call it "Dowly's all included complete effect pack" and you'll be fine

I had to disable just about all my effect mods after running a file comparison between them and your mod

edit: Ahh the wonders of pop-up blockers. Just read your PM, new version installed

Yeh, that's because there's quite a few un-needed files still included. Need to check them one by one to see what I can delete and what not.

But for the time being, you can first install my mod, then add the other effect mods to the same folder, overwriting the files they use. A dirty, but working fix.

I've been having a good look at most of the effects files and how they (atleast how I THINK) they work. Something that hit me, while I was looking at the muzzleflash files, was that in theory it should be possible to add animated explosions and such.

The fire works the same way, it's a string of 5-10 photos played one after another, making it animated.

So, basically even something made with might be possible to add to the game. Of course, it would be an simple side view photo, and I dont know how it would look like when looked from straight up. :hmm:

I prolly start experiencing with FumeFX, doing a new fire effect for burning buildings today. :hmm:

Is there a point to using FumeFX if what you need isn't 3D?

Now quick question. If I mod IL-2 and add some new planes...not sounds just planes. CAn I still fly on our nightly flights with no problems or is Hunter's server set up for no mods?
So can I?

Yes, you can fly on Hunter's server. But be careful not to install any new planes that replace the stock one, not sure how the server would cope with it.

If you just have mods that turn AI aircraft into flyables you should be fine, You will have problems only if you're installing new aircraft that use old aircraft slots

Good news!

The animated stuff DOES work! I tested it by replacing the smoke that is left behind from flak, to a string of 7 fire tgas and it worked!

The great thing is that I can either make it loop or just play once! So this' ideal for explosion effects!
