Any mission I write with Mission Editor from 1.5, I can create the mission, select the sub and play for about 1 1/2 minutes and the game just ends. No crashes or lockups, the mission just ends. My ships are set not to delete at last waypoint but I never reach it anyway. I can play any other mission, also there are no German u-boats or ships in the mission. Just USA and Japan.
Any ideas? Peabody

I'll preface this by saying that I have absolutely no idea. Have you just upgraded to the add-on? If so, do the U.S. submarine school missions still work? The directory structure has changed I think, though I don't know for sure. If the sub school missions DO work, have you tried adding your units to them, seeing if that works, removing original units and seeing if they still work? That may help you track down what's causing the issue.
Edit: Just noticed this is in the MP forum, are you getting this problem on an MP mission? Last edited by Nisgeis; 04-30-2008 at 05:12 PM. |

What happens if you add a unit, save it, remove the unit and then try the mission? Does that still crash? If so, you should be able to compare the mission files from before and after. I've not heard of this issue before.

The thing that really bugs me is I don't know if it's a bug, a bad install, or I'm doing something wrong. And I never tried a multiplayer in 1.4 so I can't say if that worked or not. I have done a very simple test (many times): Choose "New" Set Parameters to Multiplayer and cooperative Add a few subs, set "human control" Add one ship from Japanese Check all the times to make sure they match. Start Multiplayer and Ubi.com, connect, log in. Select Create mission, choose the mission and 'start' Runs great for the time I mentioned and ends there. No crash, no lockup, no crazy messages, just ends like any other mission. At first I was trying to find out if I could use the new US suface ships in multiplayer, but when I had the problem, I uninstalled them, rebooted and tried a 'normal' mission, so maybe there's a problem there. I'll give your suggestion a try and if that doesn't work then I think I will try a fresh install. I just don't know what I may need to get rid of in the registry, I'll have to try a search for info on that. I have asked in more than one forum if anyone has written a succesful mission in 1.5 but I didn't get any answers. I even PMed a couple guys that have written missions but they hadn't tried multi only single. I'm baffled ![]() ![]() Peabody

Nisgeis,
Thank you for making me look again!! I had looked at the mission files over and over comparing information but one thing I didn't notice until this time......THE ENEMEY UNITS WERE ALWAYS FIRST. I did a mission and added the enemy convoy first and then the player units and it worked! At least the one tested worked. Thanks again. Now I am going to test to see if I can add more enemy units or if they ALL have to come first. I was always used to putting the player sub in first so I could use it to watch what the other ships did and make changes. So that is the way I did the multiplayer and it didn't work. I hope this wasn't just a one mission that worked and I'll find it is something else, but at least I got one to work. Thanks for helping. Anytime I can do anything for you just let me know. I appreciate that even when you don't have an answer you try to help and I appreciate it!! Peabody
