Booked at the Hampton for the dates needed. We're driving down there in our own car, and will be looking forward to meeting everyone at Rancho Subsim that night

ALSO wasnt there supposed to be a BBQ at a ranch or something on this trip? or is the 1st day?

I don't see it on the daily planner anymore. I didnt look through all 15 pages though. Did it get cancelled? Or did I read it wrong? or delusional from to many hours staring bleary eyed through binoculars?

Airport: Houston Hobby (HOU) is closest, but some flights only land at Houston Bush International (IAH). If you can get Hobby, do it.

Will someone be available to pick me up? Yes, someone will be by both airports at 6pm THURSDAY Oct 9 to pick up arrivals and take to the gathering/or you motel. BE SURE YOU BOOK A ROOM IN ONE OF THE SELECTED MOTELS.

Pearland area hotels
Motel 6 - Lowest Price
Howard Johnson - Closest with low price
Hampton Inn Closest, moderate price
Best Western
Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites
We won't shuttle people to the far side of Houston, pick the wrong motel and you are on your own :hmm:
If you need shuttle service, be sure to book your flight to arrive around 4~6pm Houston time Oct 9, Thursday.

will we sleep shipboard that night? Nope, you need to find a room at one of the above motels for Thursday and Friday.

can we spend 1 night on each ship? You spend Sat night aboard either the sub or DE, your choice. Read the meeting page.

Too bad, I can't make it this time.
For me, it is taxes, not Texas.
We had a VAT tax increase from 16 to 19 % in 2007. Because of some delay, the construction of my new home could not be finished by the end of 2006. That means, plus 3 % on the total construction costs which is about the purchase price for a small car. So far, I refused payments. That makes the building constructor unhappy. I have to wait and see how this turns out.
