Default [WIP] enhanced S-Class: bubbles, dials, sounds...

hi there!

this is an attempt to enhance and fix the S-Class boats for Sh4 1.4,
as for now it includes bubbles, working rpm dials and a fix for one of the waterspray limber holes which could be seen underwater.
also trim and ballast tank dials where changed so that they are not spinning around like crazy.
i'm still working on the radio to cut out at below pd-depth like on the other boats but got nothing so far. so if anyone knows where to look for this?? ANVART???

(for the bubbles i took some particles out of kapitan_zur_see's mod for the other boats but modified them, i hope this is ok??)

http://files.filefront.com/SClass+en.../fileinfo.html
(updated 12.01.08, added bigger splash waves)

additional file (sounds):

will be reworked

backup your files!! this is work in progress!

Like matching them up to the limber holes in FooFighters skins. So if you take them from his work the bubles may start to come from anywhere. But you can enhance and change the bubble effects that already exist for the subs if there are particles nodes for them.

Hi vickers,
Modifiyng my work on bubbles and adapt it to S-Class is completely OK with me
It's good to see some people liked it as much as they wish to adapt it
Especially since i don't have many many free times to spend on modding these days , unfortunately and therefore, not much working on it, so go ahead
Ask me if you wish to know how i added more bubbles flows, if you feels the need to. Or you can simply tweak existing ones.
Didn't test your work, but be carefull if you copied some bubbles flow nodes out of my work that are labelled anything after number 16 (stock game as 16 bubbles flows per boat, i myself added sometime up to 17 more BUT those are especially placed to match the specific boat hull shape and limber holes, so you should check about what Leo told you.)
By the way, thanks for your work

thanks for helping out on this!
the devs left some bubble nodes there but without
particle generators.
lining them up with limber holes and other locations would be
cool but all i could think of for now would be trial&error with
the coordinates.i guess you positioned them directly on the 3d-model?
your work really is outstanding, and time-consuming too!

thanks
Yeah, i used to export the 3dmodel and import it back into 3dsmax to get a reference. Then i would create whatever small object like a sphere to use it as a reference, and place it on the model to get XYZ coordinates without having to do trials&errors wich would simply be too much time consuming for adding lots of bubbles nodes.
I think I once posted on some thread to explain how i did it (to some extent...) somewhere...

added interior damage sounds: glass breaking, pipe/water bursts, electrical.
fixed: water pipe spilling endlessly.

Hey Vickers, I just took a sub down below crush to test the damge sounds and ...YEAH BABY! Fantastic. I have been thinking I've been the only one who cared about it since I didnt see many other people complain. Thanks Much. I wish I knew enough to do this kind of stuff myself. This will make the emersion factor go up by a factor of two at least. I cant believe it took as long as it did if it's as simple as you say.

I will be closely watching for your name in the furure for more. I'm lucky you started with the S-18, since thats the sub I like to start out in. Thank you!

Has just now looked this subject and has seen cry from the heart ...
S-class sub's have small periscopic depth, therefore antennas are close to water surface and you hear a unilateral radio communication ...
Is it your question?

i tried to add some new stuff in the last few days but
unfortunately, nothing really worked
i leave the bubbles as they are for now, there are
too many other things broken e.g. interior compass
not working, some gauges upside down, and so on.
i think this game will never be finished:rotfl:

yes, partly. thanks anvart, but the radio keeps working
even at greater depths, it never goes out.
unlike on the other boats where the radio turns off
below PD.
i think this must be hardcoded..i found nothing regarding
radio depth in the s-class files..

Yes, you are right ...
But if the periscope (or other object) is raised it influences on radio communication too, as in SH3 ...
But I have not noticed strange behaviour of radio communication in mine S-class sub's ... :hmm:
