Just thought I would introduce myself. I have been lurking for about a week and am impressed with the community here. I recently started playing sh3 (I know Im a bit behind the times) I have always been a flight sim fannatic but got bored with them after 15+ years of them. as far as sub sims go my favorite NES game was silent service and on the sega genisis I was really into 688 attack sub. about the time sh3 forst came out I saw it but I dident have a pc that would run it. well a few months ago I got a new pc and came across sh4 a few weeks ago, well after installing it i found that when i go to any outside veiw the game would ctd
(i think i am short on memory) I ended up downloading sh3 and I was really impressed with it. I just ran my 5th patrol lastnight after loading GWX and I am blown away. as a side note to all who worked on that mod I can only say that that mod was like getting another game thanks for all the effort.

Welcome, I was also Flight Sim mad and became fairly tired of the whole genre. I am now more into subsims and strategy games (Total War etc).
Different type of community compared to the Flight Sim community I feel, bit more helpful and less picky about mods and their accuracies. |

Welcome aboard. There are plenty of people who are refugees from the world of flight sims here.

Welcome!
What part of the world are you reporting from? I have had my disk of SH4 on hold here for a good while; similar problems of graphic memory/shaders, etc. as well. SH3/GWX is incredible! This crew of SH3-er's are the best around, and enough cannot be said for the folks that have the efforts put in on mods., models, and historic research all in one place. And, of course, you can't thank all these GWX creators enough! Have fun, good hunting!

Welcome aboard!
You may want to beef up your computer so that you don't miss anything when GWX comes out. Stick with stock SH3 untill you get the hang of it (remember to patch the game up to 1.4b!) and then you may want to have a go with GWX 2.0! Good Hunting
