Default Torpedo hit "shout"

Hello wolves!
There seem to be a bug when you choose german speech, the crew no longer shouts when I hit a ship with one of my eels!? Allthough I read somewhere that there was a bigger mod that fixes this, but I don't wan't to download a large mod to fix this small problem since I'm soon gonna join the gwx players when 2.0 comes out. So I wonder if anyone knows how to fix this prob so I also can here my german crew shout out loud in joy when one of does british zerstöres goes to the bottom? I play SH3 1.4.

I think the shout is very lame.
I usually mutter to myself "oh shut the he*l up" after his little yell.
A more fitting sound would be the most of the crew saying some other exclamation of the day... heck, Perhaps the shout of the day was "yea" and I'm all wet.
I think a combining of three or four voices saying "yea" would be more tolerable though.

bracer - EAF274 Johan released a small mod (2.37 KB file replacement), to fix this. Not JSGME compatible, so check readme & backup the original file.

I used SH3 Commander's 'Randomization' function to have five files without the shout and one with, so I only heard it rarely. I did the same with the depth charge splash files, so five times out of six I would only hear the splash, and once in a while I'd here him say "Wasserbomb!"

Difficulty believing why they would go "yea....". I'd get a whole lot more annoyed if my crew kept going "yea...." all at the same time like bizarre drones. Back then people didn't talk like that anyway, in English the word is "yes", not "yea" or "yeah". I admit they might sound a bit more casual in real life, but considering the odds against them and the elation they'd feel at hitting a target it probably wouldn't be a bored sounding notification. Crews nowadays talk like robots with strict speech protocol.

Besides, crew repeatedly using the same clinical sounding speech is a lot less jarring and annoying than crew repeatedly using exactly the same "off the cuff" and casual sounding remarks.

If you are playing GWX, it was designed to yield the best results if you play using German speech with English Subtitles.

If you haven't already, just switch to German speech in your options, and the crew shouts are a lot more 'believable.'

(Along with a lot of other cool stuff in German speech.)

Hi,

I found another one on my harddrive. Its the Karle's German Cheering Mod V1.0
The mod bases on the one from EAF274 Johan.

Direct from the readme:

Karle's German Cheering Mod V1.0

A short while ago I downloaded Syxx Killers Bugfixer Compilation Mod which contained the fix ( I think EAF274 Johan discovered the fix) which enables the trigger to the sound file of the German crew cheer when a torpedo hits its target. I installed and loaded up my game waiting with great anticipation to hear my crew burst into victorious cheering when we had a successful strike. Well anyone who has installed this fix or those who use the English speech (which worked all along apparently), will understand my disappointment when all I heard was a single voice saying "Yey"

Anyway, there are a number of different versions of this pathetic"Yey" in the speech folders so what I've done is taken them all and trawled the internet for sound files of men cheering, whistling and clapping and mixed them together to produce a group of files that will hopefully do justice to any Kapitans targeting efforts. The Mod is structured to use with the JSGME Mod enabling utility and I have included EAF274 Johan's fix for those who have not yet installed it. If you do not need this fix then simply delete the Library Folder that comes with this mod before installing it. This Mod is only for the German Speech at the moment for some reason the English Speech gets on average 5 Cheer files to each of the 9 folders where as the German folders only have 2. If there are enough people who use the English Speech in the game and would like it, I'll make an English version later.

This mod has been tested but as always and especially if you decide to manually install it, please backup the original Speech folder so you can roll back if you want to.

You can download from my side:

Greetings,
Paco.
