I have put together a MOD that provides a BBC station for the Radio. I used a lot of the BBC news from previous mods and added a lot that I found on the web. There is also British music that plays in between the news. I also thought the Brits in our midst might enjoy listening to "home" radio.
You can download it at http://files.filefront.com/BBC+World.../fileinfo.html You can install it with JSGME but you also have to edit the radio.ini to use it. The readme file contains the block you need to add to the radio.ini. The block in the readme sets the frequency at 200 so it should be the last entry. It is a worldwide station. If you are not comfortable editing the radio.ini, you can also download my Add Fred's radio stations Mod. It adds the entries for all of Fred8615's stations, Capt. Midnight's CBS Radio and of course the BBC. It also removes the radio track from Washington and adds some patriotic music. Install it with JSGME. Get it at http://files.filefront.com/Add+Radio.../fileinfo.html BBC is quite large, 1/3 gig unzipped. The AddRadio stations is 73 meg zipped. I've run it in my game and it seems to work fine. Enjoy

Very cool! Thank you for making this available. While I'm not British, it lends another interesting facet to SH4...

It's not just for the Brits, it's for everyone. I just thought they might especially enjoy it.

Would the broadcasts be suitable for use with SHIII, relevant to the atlantic theatre and the war in europe. I'm thinking of U-boats being able to receive British radio stations whilst transiting around the U.K.

In fact there is more ETO news than Pacific. I also have some pre December 7, 1941 news mp3s that were not included in the MOD for obvious reasons. If you think it worthwhile I could toss them up as a package in Filefront. Let me know if you would like them. |

That would be great if you could. It would make a change from the selection of gramaphone recodings. :p
