Working on the eXpansion I found a much better way to remove duplicate radio log entries. Opened up the final_2006 master log and applied this method. And in doing so combed over the timer settings and found several Hundred incorrect-bad timer settings. Timer settings trigger the time of day and length of broadcast of each signal-message. A boat load were set to expire before they started! I have corrected these as well.
What does this mean? For starters if I understand the way the game reads these it means a few hundred potential messages could be sent when they wern't before. And so I fixed the Radiolog_Final_2006 up and uploaded the new release. It basicaly combines IrishRed's logs and time-line messages, into one release. Note: if you have installed the any Final_2006 d/l prior to this release please uninstall that and use this release. As a 'fix' of sorts. D/L http://mysh3.info/files/radiolog_final_2006.rar readme in documentation. Enjoy!

Here is a sort of breakdown of what the final_2006 contains; 1900+ messages.
39 - 247 40 - 489 41 - 695 42 - 271 43 - 84 44 - 73 45 - 58 Note it drops off considerably after `42. Well that is where most of the original logs stopped. Sure time-line messages fill the gaps of 43-45 a little but these numbers inspired me to start the Radiolog_eXpasion project. Using most of the same sources and some elbow grease it is making headway. Still early to post exact numbers and when but to give everyone an idea, in the eXpasion so far in `42 there are 615 messages. So there should be about that in `43 and so on. Taking into account the amount and type of messages given the time of year and course of the war and available sources. One more thing as this being a text mod it should be compatable with any mods used. In fact I've never once had a problem changing out the messages (in testing) not needing to be in port from a saved game, or not needing to roll-back either.

Great work!
When do you expect to have the expansion ready? Will it include all the previous messages in one file? |
