Base Change Again

Well is May 1942, saved my game, scanned the cfg / careertrack files for the CSS_BaseChange line and it said "Fremantle" as the last entry still. But when I get to Freemantle, where I departed from a month before, it wouldn't let me end my mission, just refit!

And before I headed back I did get a "return to base" message after signalling all my torps were expended and I had completed my objective. What am I missing - this running around trying to find your correct base (and I have patch v 1.3) is getting tiresome.

You are very lucky. I have never made it past Fremantle on Baseic, SH4, v1.1 or v1.2 or v1.3... Once at Fremantel, full loaded and leave on Patrol, I get only one REFIT - No other port will even REFIT... so I Dock at Fremantel - 2n Time at Dock. . You will be RETIRED for being a DUD, and the shame of being Mothballed is in my OPINION is "F-U-C-K YOU UBISOFT." If it was not for the GREAT people who have made MODS for this Game... SH4 is the worst game I have PAID GOOD MONEY FOR. and the last (I will buy) from Ubisoft...
v1.3 will not allow me to Finish any mission, this is after a FULL CLEAN Install.

After 5 repeat missions I was put at Brisbane, CurrentFlotilla=BrisbaneCommand, Left base, did my new mission in the caroline islands, returned to Brisbane only to be able to refit. I save regularly an reentered at a point were I was ready to return to base, but this time I went to pearl were I was able to end mission. All this time wasted.

Yeah, I remember pre-patch 1.3 I was unable to dock at Freemantle - went to Brisbane - did one mission, then after that was unable to dock. Left for Pearl where I played out a few missions before upgrading to patch 1.3 in late '44.

I'll try scanning for "CurrentFlotilla= ???" to see what that brings up. Otherwise, I have a feeling my time as an Asiatic Boat Skipper will once again be truncated and its off to Pearl again.

I'm thinking maybe when i finsih this game, I'll start another Campaign, only this (for the time in three Careers) time I will start at Pearl. Might as well shorten the process

Too bad - I like the Asiatic patrols. But I also like to periodically dock.

Sorry guys, but I have never encountered the problem of not being able to dock at my base.

Started my campaign in Manila, then at Java, currently still based outta Perth-Fremantle.

Refits and ending patrol are for the weak, but you raise a Good point!

Made the transit around Southern Oz to Brisbane and bingo! Able to dock. Next mission (july/42) sent to Patrol Solomon Islands. Decided as well to keep my S-Boat for now. Kind fond of the beast - and it dives quickly.

Wonder how long before I find the same problem when going back to Brisbane and THEN having to transit to Pearl? Not before the refueling base gets set up in the Solomons I hope. Getting to pearl from Brisbane on an S-Boats fuel capacity could be tricky
