Hi all,
In SH4 (1.3 patched) many things have changed compared to SH3, including my understanding of patrols. For example, I chose the Asiatic fleet and started in the Phillipines. The Flips were overrun after the 2nd or 3rd mission and I safely got to Suribaya. Now I'm supposed to deploy to the Flips and engage enemy shipping. No problem. I get to my way point, first mission objective complete. I start patrolling, and patrolling and........... IT NEVER ENDS! Question: Am I supposed to patrol the area containing my way point (Star) for a certain amount of time? Or am I supposed to go all over the place in the Phillipines and blow stuff up to complete the second mission objective? Thanks in advance! |

If the star is grey, look for stuff to sink.
If the star is colored in, then you need to stay in the area, usually for 48 hours. |

You need to sink 10,000 tons (I believe that number is correct) of enemy shipping in your patrol area to complete the objective.

Thanks for the help. 1st: The way point did turn grey so I'll hang out only in that area for a while. 2nd: I'll make sure I get enough tonnage and see what happens.
Appreciate it! |

And check your Objectives ("M" Key... can't remember which tab) and you will see when you have completed your "Sink Ships" onjective.

Yeah, those tonnages are set kind of high. I guess the success is only to get the renown though, which is pretty meaningless.

I know that once I complete a mission and radio my status I get a new mission. Give that a try.

Yea, just keep sinking stuff until completed. I don't know what the figure is. 10k may be right. I don't pay that much attention.
