These are OUTDATED now.
I didn't plan on starting my own little sound pack for SHIV, but I keep getting drawn into this. Anyway, this little soundpack replaces both the diesel engine sounds for your own sub, as well as replaces the lawn mower aircraft sounds that are the default in SHIV. I have added damaged aircraft sounds to this version of the mod, as you will hear with engine RPM fluctuations as the aircraft goes in. I am not done with these however because I would like to add a sputter in there too, but this will do for now. A good test to listen for new aircraft is to load up the Battle of Midway Quick Mission and wait for some aircraft to fly over. I think you will all approve of the new radial and inline engines as they are presented. Let me know what you think. -S Last edited by SUBMAN1; 07-14-2007 at 01:00 PM. Reason: Updated file |

The game uses the same file structure here as in SH3 (maybe even the same sound...not sure), so yes, those are the files.

Files in the osund directory:
Aircraft carrier sounds fine The B-24 sounds good to me The Catalina does sound like an actual Catalina! Corevette sounds OK DD sounds OK Hurricane - Fixed Stuka - Fixed Liberty - Sounds like an old ship to me Messerschmidt - hmm. That might be worth looking into, but I'l like to know what plane uses it in game. It sounds almost like a Messerschmidt, but thats the problem - what aircraft uses this sound? King George - Sounds fine Dido - fine NF_Boat - sounds good NPT - good Oil Tanker - good Passenger Ship - sounds slightly too high RPM to me, but is OK There are only two prop sounds for the hydrophones, and that is kind of disappointing. I wish I could fix that so you could tell what you were listening too and what ship type it is, but for now, all you can hear is warship vs juicy target. Sunderland aircraft - sounds good Swordfish - sounds good Vapoer sounds - fine |
