Default FYI: New signature rules

Hi! Here are the new rules regarding signatures.

The maximum allowed size for signature images is 400x120, the signature filesize must not exceed 100kB (under 50kB is preffered), and the whole signature must not be higher than 150 pixels. Animated sigs are allowed.

If you are unsure if your signature is within those limits, please post a message here and a moderator will check it, or use the below examples for comparison.

If your current signature is only 20% wider and/or 10% higher than allowed you donīt need to change it.

This is an example of a 400x120 signature:

This is a signature thatīs about 150 pixels high:

No, itīs almost 200 pixels high. Change it to this and also make sure that there are no blank lines after the text, currently you have about 3 or 4:

For the record, I tweaked mine down to 132 pixels high; invoking the '10% more than' law.

Is this due to my sig? And if so, how can I modify it so it does fit into this limit? And why the limit?

Probably not due to YOUR sig, but to many peoples signatures being too large. The reason one limits signatures is because the clutter up the forums, making pages unnecessarily large and picture heavy for users with low bandwidth. Also, having large signatures can make quick and short discussions very long, since there's lots of huge siggys to browse thru, and in the end, even the discussion can be hard to follow among all the siggys.

I quickly redid it so it was within specs for you.... if you get me the name of that memorial I can google search a better image and maybe put the other pic faded behind it... just a thought.

And tweaked mine.

Thanks . . . The Memorial is the Combat Medic Memorial infront of the AMEDD Museum. The second picture is the DUI for the 26th Cavalry Regiment which conducted the Last horse borne cavalry charge of the United States Cavalry not to far from where my family comes from.

Also noticed my signature doesn't actually come up atm... do ALL sigs need to be checked before activation?

EDIT: seems I merely had to make a new post... thought sigs were retro-active for some reason.
