Who Is Your Virtual Capt. Named After?
For my current patrol, I've named my virtual Captain in honor of my Grandfather, who served in the Pacific, in the Phiippines. He passed away almost a year ago at the age of 96! I never tired of his war stories, or looking through his war photo album, which he left me.
The photos are great, and include a sunk Japanese merchant vessel in the bay, and the destruction of a communications tower. If I ever figure out how to post them here, I will! |

After my father.
He used to tell me about valiently defending the Great Lakes against the hostile Canadians in the early 60s in the USNR. Even as a kid I thought that that was really funny. He served on the USS DE Daniel Joy.
