Default [TEC]JSGME after patching

Before I patched the game to 1.2 I uninstalled all the mods with JSGME. Before replacing those mods should I use the Mod enabler to generate a new snapshot?

Not sure what you mean exactly.

You unloaded all the mods before you installed 1.2 - that was GOOD
Now you simply go back into JSGME and reload each mod.

Keep in mind that, generally, mods having to do w/ graphics tweaks will still work fine (Green lamp mod), but mods that changed CFG files will most likely not (Beer RFB v 1.13).

I've never used the snapshot feature before. But I did use that list that Seeadler posted which shows which files were altered/added by 1.2. I compared it to the files in my MODS folder before replacing any mods. For instance, the Realistic Battery Life mod was okay to back in right away. The Realistic Crush Depth mod was not (still waiting for that one to be made compatible with 1.2).

1.13).
Thanks for the reply. Sorry, not to be more specific. It's just that as I understand it, JSGME lets you take a "before mod" snapshot of the programs files to compare to if something goes wrong.?. So would a pre-1.2 patch snapshot differ from a patched files snapshot? I'm asking if you need to update the snapshot. I guess it can't hurt to do so.

It depends on what you want to refer to as your "baseline". Personally, I will generate a new snapshot - so I can tell when things are not pure 1.2... I no longer care about the 1.0 or 1.1 files.

Personally the only thing I use the snapshot feature for is in case a mod screws up the game. For any future (hopefully MANY more!) versions of the game I still do a completely clean install to make sure some of the bugs/glitches aren't due to interactions with the mods/patches. It's one less thing to worry about when diagnosing a problem.

Happy so far to say that I've not experienced more then a couple crashes since 1.2!

The snapshot lets you know if you need fresh files... no need to replace identical files

Also, it is a good idea to immediately make a copy of your patched install. Once I have a copy, I burn everything but my MODS and Data\Movies folders to DVD.

Putting back original files is much easier than reinstalling/repatching.

That's not a bad idea. I'm going to do that right now. May save me some time later.

I figure we have 1, maybe 2 patches left so its not so bad.
