Known issue. "Fixed" by modders.

This was fixed. Did you patch to 1.4?

I did patch to 1.4 NOt real sure why it is happening. I may have a corrupted save because it happens quicker and quicker any time I reload that saved game.

It appears to not be associated with the A button. It seems to happen when I take my sub (balao class) down to around 530 or 540 feet. Not sure what the deal is.

I 'cheat' and keep 2 saves just in case anything like this ever happens. So far this past year the only problem I've ever had with SH4 was the Taihosan Maru CTD that was also fixed in 1.4.

I feel your pain and would hate to lose an entire career because of a few misplaced 1's and 0's in a Save file...
