Default First Impressions

The game installs quicker than SH3. I will come back with more screenies.

I have to say, my first impression is also being miffed at Ubi - and I pre-ordered an overpriced download just to not have the game late

Seriously, why can't they just let it out, at least on their darn direct-download website!

Yeah, it's pretty sad when a DOWNLOAD shows up after a hard release.

Ubisoft needs to upgrade their customer service to V2.0.

I agree! I paid almost 20 bucks extra for overnight shipping from Ubi directly...and I still don't have it? This sounds familiar!

I was hoping to get a review from Neal before player reviews started flooding in!

Anyway, congrats to all those who have it and remember to think of us and pass on info! Just remember how you felt yesterday!!!

A little advice from a computer nerd/freak/gamer:

Look at sign. "Kruger:" lower part of the screen and all the icons there, see them?

Those are also called "CPU-vampires", the cleaner that section is, the more likely it will be that there will be no mess up with games etc, etc, because these are little tiny "vampires"/programs that are probably running in the background for no good when you play a game. Keep that section clean.

Go to Start/Run and write msconfig ( or in Vista just search on the word msconfig) and look in services in there, i.e. disable Microsoft Services to see what is running beside MS services, and I for example, I have only "Nvidia display" drivers running and also look in Startup,,keep that section clean too and your gaming experience will be more "bump-free"/lock-ups free/slowdown free and so on,,besides that:

WHERE the heck did you get the game!!!!!!!!

Cappy, my PC is like this. Barton 2500@3200. 1 Gb Memory, Geforce 6800 GT . The game runs with all the details set to max, 1280x1024 and it runs damn good....even with my little vampires.

Graphics is great...I mean GREAT.

But you will all miss SH3. Sounds are terrible, horrible...and they are missing. No settings for the torps ? No attack map ? Why ? . It feels arcade like style a little to me....

Kruger, if possible, do me a favor and post where you got the game in the "Where'd you get your copy" sticky at the top of the forum.

It will be good for us all to add to as we get our copies so we can form a database.

Thanks!

So you mean what we gain on the swings we lose on the roundabout?

Still, great to hear it's running max on your sys! Thanks for the update. I thought we'd have radio silence from you for a good few hours.

Enjoy.
