I've been wondering about this for a while - I notice you are planning to include training for new U-Boat crews as part of the strategy. Will it be possible to take one of your frontline captains and assign him to a training flotilla? If you do this, will the new crews be any better than they would, otherwise? It would be fun to have to balance the need for good front-line commanders with the requirement for improved training that only combat veterans could provide.
I am not sure what the actual Kriegsmarine practice was for rotating commanders - just a thought. |

Yes, its exactly like that. To reach a high training-level of your new commanders and crews, you have to let them be trained by your own good commanders, which are staying already under your command. So you as the BdU has to make the decision, if you want as much as possible excellent commanders on sea to hunt the enemy-ships or you transfer a part of them to the U-Boat-Schools to let them train your new commanders and crews.
To be successfull you have to accept a mix of both... means as much as good commanders on sea but also as much as good commanders as teachers in the U-Schools. ![]() Then you could be successfull as BdU in Subwolves (This depends also from other things)
