Default Morse Code Generator

Hi there all!
Just wondering if it's possible - when typing messages to send in MP, after you type the message and hit enter.... to have the morse code sound being made.... like it being tapped out.... and after its finished playing the correct sounds.... the message is actually sent...

or even in single player stuff.... sending a patrol report etc, hear that tapped out... and maybe having to wait until it's finished being sent.... before its acutally successfully received by BdU????

i dunno... i just miss the dot dots dashes and all... thought it could be a nice touch added to the game....

i have no idea what this game engine is capable of, or what can be made to suit it. ..... would anyone else like to have something like this added on for themselves?

Hi matey, and welcome to subsim! In GWX, you actually hear the "dots & dashes" when recieving a new radio message. I think it might be difficult to implement this in MP games, or giving it complete player control.. But it would be really cool, though!

thanks for the welcome!

yeah, i realise it wouldn't be accurate in terms of, the tranmission would be scrambled via the famous enigma machine's daily output.... but yeah. it is a nice touch, specially for those of us who are keen to learn, practice... or just immerse ourselves a bit more... (as if 1 foot above crush depth ain't enough for some #:^)

so where abouts is it heard in GWX? do you have to be standing next to the radioman... or just in the control room? i can't imagine it would be heard topside.....

and thanks for the tid bit of GWX info... im so amazed @ what the dev team for it has accomplished..... it will indeed go down in PC simming history as a naval benchmark!

You should hear it in whatever station or screen you happen to be in....I'm usually in the nav map view
