Default Torpedo behavior

SubCommand + SCXII is all that I thought it would be and more except for one thing...

... the torpedo homing behavior is ridiculous. The intercept course these torps set is impossible. I was in an Alfa outrunning a 40knot torp and turned 90 degrees from the torp to clear his sonar cone. Thing is that the torp turned 90 degrees also to follow me and was running exactly parallel (we were dead even both on heading 000). No way I should have still in inside its sonar cone.... then I turned about to heading 90 and it turned back to heading 90 as well... like it had magically been able to track me and instanteously derive my course change...

... has anyone taken any approaches to more plausible torp homing behavior?

Default Torpedo's

I'm loosing control of torps once they leave the tube; they are not following pre sets and seem to wander all over the ocean - anyone had similar problems?
