Hi guys,
After I installed some of the additional merchant ship models for on this forum, I tried loading up my career but whenever the loading bar would be complete, the screen goes blank and an error message appears, prompting to close SH3 (i.e: the words "Initializing..." do not appear). I tried doing the same with my single missions but the same error occurs again. The Museum works fine, all of the new ship models can be seen clearly. Could an important file have been accidentally modified/deleted when I tried to remove some of the ship models via JSGME? If so, what type of file could it be? I haven't emptied my recycle bin recently so it might still be there. I noticed that JSGME can detect file changes and new files, could it detect missing files as well? I'm using stock SH3 with the Harbour Traffic mod 1.47 Standalone. |

I had this problem also once.
I had made some changes / new mods and my existing carrer hung like yours. I couldnt fix it even if i uninstalled the new mods so i had to abandon that carrer and start a new one. Soz if i couldnt help you more than confirm that i also encounterd this problem.

Whenever you get the error message
" SH3 has caused an error blah blah" click on the more details link Make a note of the reason - sh3.exe, sh3sim.act, sh3collisions.act or whaever That helps narrow down the cause

Yep, I've looked at the error report and the following files were included:
E:\SilentHunterIII\SH3Sound.act E:\SilentHunterIII\SH3Sim.act E:\SilentHunterIII\SH3Controllers.act E:\SilentHunterIII\SH3Collisions.act E:\SilentHunterIII\sh3.exe E:\SilentHunterIII\sh3.dll E:\SilentHunterIII\Kernel.dll E:\SilentHunterIII\EventCamera.act The others were just jumbled codes like mvs54.dll or something like that.... Anyone know what could be the cause? |

Well, I'm planning to transfer my Career saves to a new installion of SH3 with the HT 1.47 mod installed. Will it matter if I don't have the *exact* mods installed apart from Harbour Traffic? I mean, most of my other mods are just used to improve visuals.

Were you guys currently at see in mid patrol when you added those mods, and did you rollback SH3 Cmdr before doing so ?
You can still save your career from doom. Go to SH3 Cmdr, roll it back. Then go into JSGME and disable whatever mod you added, and you should be able to continue where you left off, it worked for me the other day. Then once you finish your current Patrol , then Rollback Cmdr again and re-enable your new mod. NEVER enable a mod while in Mid Patrol, unless you KNOW FOR A FACT you can. For example, Tikigod tells you in his latest mod that it is OK to enable his Engine Orders mod mid patrol, so it is ok. But if someone does not mention that, I would not try it. |
