Alt-Tab Crashing the Game

Hello all, i have this problem, every time i try to Alt-Tab out of the game, it crashes on me and i have to restart it, kinda sucks, and i have searched the forums for 'Alt-Tab' and i have not found any treads about this problem, but have seen that it's working for everyone else. I'm running Windows XP SP2, any more specs needed i can supply.

My system is in dire need of more RAM and I want to get a new box anyway. With SH3 the thing takes my system to the limit so I know that Alt-Tabbing would just likely overdo it. SH3 leaves so little memory open that it can overload the system if you demand the extra memory to run the desktop gui and therefore it will crash. If yours is an older system this could be the issue.

I have 2GB DDR2 RAM and I can easily ALT-TAB SH3 all the time. Go check the Forums, see something else I just remembered, something urgent and things like that.

SH3 uses around 900MB of my RAM (game is on pause, and I use GW 1.1a). So if you only have 1GB of RAM I don't recommend ALT-TAB-ing SH3.

When I want to Alt+Tab in game, I hit Escape first and let it sit for a moment on the Exit/Save screen. Then I can Alt+Tab without issue.

Im running 2gb ram, Alt-Tabs quickly, not like it was struggling, but when it's minimized, the SH3 program in the taskbar stays up and then disapears.

Dunno if anyone has gotten this issue, but if so please help out really annoying, just 30 mins ago i Alt-Tabbed out of the game (quick exit since it crashes) but it didn't do as expected and i maximized it and everything was fine but then i re-tried minimizing it and that time it crashed.

I don't get any error messages when it crashes, and sometimes it minimizes by itself and obviously crashes, no error messages whatsoever, so please could anyone help out, again, it is really annoying

I doubt this is any help at all, because I think it's the same identical function, but it's worth a try anyway. Instead of Atl+Tab, hit the Windows Key. :hmm:

I also like Payoff's Esc Idea. It's like the computer gets really excited when SH3 is running, and needs time to regroup and return to reality. A computer adrenaline rush.:rotfl:

I'm running with 1.5GB and Whilst it doesn't crash I can't Alt-Tab or Windows key without SH3 staying on the tope of my desktop preventing me from seeing what I'm doing. I know I can do things like click on shortcuts and they work, but I can;t see the result because SH3 won;t minimise at all no matter what I do.

Frustrating!

Hijacker.

Waiting before Alt-Tab doesn't work, what could be the cause of this problem, i can minimise other games without a problem (BF2, Oblivion(way more stressfull), EE2)
