A 1 gig download would be nice, this puppy weighs in at 4.45 gigs.

Strange, was 790MB for me.

Think you're looking at the full 1.07 release.

Aah, I see. Good to have ya.

Hope pilots stick around, those aircraft are just beautiful to fly. Kinda lost interest in flying with AI though.

Compared to the startup in BS the A-10 is cake... you'll have it down in no time..

It looks like a truly beautiful sim. Are there any plans for a boxed version at all?

Also, what's the DRM? It's not Steam is it?

You think so? You should try IL2 COD, it doesn't just need a 1gig patch, it needs a whole new game engine. A-10 without doubt is one of the best flight sims I have ever bought. The detail is incredible (you can even raise/lower your seat!) The software used was bought by the National Air Guard as a training program and DCS (the developers) got permission to convert it for the public. If you learn this sim you could really fly an A-10.

No it doesn't, just a serial no that has to be claimed from the DCS website after installation, the game......sorry sim runs like a dream.

I'm pretty sure that a boxed version will be released very soon, if it follows the BS route. And no, at the mo it's not available on Steam.

That's fine with me. I don't buy any games that require a Stream account.

I'm going to have to get this, I think. The more I see and read about it the more superb it looks.

Nope, uses SF.

Q: Does DCS: A-10C use copy protection?

A: Yes, it uses the new user-friendly ProActive AAA Technology.
You will no longer have a fixed number of activations, but in an effort to prevent piracy the system does limit the number of activations per month. Your DCS A-10C serial number is initially set to 8 activations and when they all are spent, 1 activation is added automatically once per 31 days (effectively "refilling" your serial number).
ProActive AAA Technology does not install any drivers on your PC. It works as an integrated part of the DCS files but has no special privileges in your system.
